Tools for Stronger Argument and Clearer Writing
Hosted by Dr. Glenn Brown
Overview
Professionals face challenges preparing technical documents. They can be long, complex, and the links from data to recommendations are often unclear.
This workshop shares two toolsets collectively called ‘Organized Reasoning’. They offer:
• Tools to build strong arguments from technical information.
• Tools to present those arguments clearly in writing.
This is not a writing course—it is a thinking course with specifically linked writing tools.
The workshop addresses:
• Common errors in arguments and written documents.
• Three features necessary to build strong arguments.
• Five strategies that guide the tactics of argument and writing.
• How to build arguments clearly in written documents.
• Steps to keep documents short, efficient and streamlined.
• How people implement these tools in their daily practice.
Participants learn a revised approach to planning, preparing and writing they can use to write stronger cases in their IAs or to better review other people’s work.
Schedule: There are four 3.5-hour sessions starting on June 8th 2026 and a follow-up session at a later date (to be determined). Monday/Wednesday June 8, 10, 15 and 17, at 9:00-12:30 Mountain Time.
